Detectives are treating the “despicable” attack on 93-year-old Emma Winnall as murder after she died of the injuries sustained when beaten in her own bed earlier this month.
The grandmother suffered a fractured skull, broken arm and severed finger in the attack that led to her family releasing a picture of her injuries in the hope it would persuade people with information to come forward.
Superintendent Richard Baker from West Midlands Police said: “This is desperately sad news… our condolences go out to Emma’s family and friends.
“Clearly, this has now become a murder inquiry. But given the extent of Emma’s injuries, combined with her age and vulnerability, this investigation has always been treated with the same level of seriousness as a murder investigation.”
The attack appalled people living nearby on the quiet residential estate in Moseley, Birmingham. There were no obvious signs of anyone forcing their way into the elderly lady’s ground floor flat.
In the days that followed the beating Mrs Winnall’s children appealed for information .
Her daughter Joyce Blencoe told a news conference: “It’s broken my heart to hear my frail and defenceless mum in hospital manage to say she was screaming for help and no one came.
“To see your mum viciously beaten and covered in blood is the most horrific nightmare.”
Mrs Winnall died in the early hours of Tuesday after spending a month in hospital. A post-mortem examination will now be carried out.
Supt Baker said: “We were able to speak to Mrs Winnall in hospital on two occasions in the days following her ordeal; the information she provided continues to form part of our investigation.
“No one capable of carrying out such a despicable attack deserves protecting - I’m asking people to look into their consciences and if they have any suspicions about who may be responsible to contact police.”
A 56-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man from the Hall Green area were arrested in connection with the attack earlier this month but have since been released on police bail. BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY, AND USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
!WARNING! THIS TRACK MAY INDUCE INTENSE AURAL PLEASURE IN ANYONE LISTENING TO IT THROUGH GOOD QUALITY CANS! !WARNING!
Well fxxx me in every position under the sun, if this track were a pizza it would be called a “Fxxxing Stonker Supreme”! I know Solarstone(Richard Mowatt) has turned out some belters in the past, but this absolutely wicked piece of aural delight must now shoot to the top of the list. This version of the track “The Spell (Pulser Remix) is released on an EP of the same name and also on the iTunes version of Solarstone’s May 2012 album release “Pure” as a “bonus” track, it is NOT on the version of the album which is on general release! I took the track that follows this one from the “Pure” album, that is a great track also but this one is the “dogz bollox”, so to speak! Vocals on the track are provided by Clare Stagg, the only info I can find about Clare is that she is a folk singer and could possibly be from somewhere in North-West England(where I live!). Both the EP and the album are released on the Dutch label “Black Hole Recordings” who are based in the town of Breda.
The fact that you are reading this, whether on a home computer, laptop, iPhone/iPod touch/iPad or other smart device means that you should be aware of the contribution made by the British scientist Alan Turing(1912-1954) to the early science of computing and AI (Artificial Intelligence) during his far too short life. As well as a genius Alan was gay, but the fact that he probably contributed more to the defeat of NAZI Germany in WWII curried no favours when he fell foul of the law that made homosexuality a crime punishable with imprisonment before a few enlightened people saw the hypocrisy and stupidity of such a law and began the campaign that ultimately brought about it’s abolition. As an alternative to a prison sentence for following his true nature and in doing so harmed no one, Alan chose to be “chemically castrated” by taking female hormones, he developed breasts and out of embarrassment became a virtual recluse in his home in Wilmslow, Cheshire, United Kingdom. Abandoned by those he once thought his friends and shunned by a pathetic, stupid, ungrateful society he laced an apple with cyanide and ate it whilst lying in his bed, he was discovered by his cleaner the following day having lain dead for some hours, my whole body shakes with rage when I imagine his last moments alive, alone and in agony as the poison took effect, HAD I KNOWN YOU ALAN AND WHAT YOU PLANNED TO DO I WOULD HAVE USED MY LAST OUNCE OF STRENGTH TO STOP YOU, I would have told Alan “fuck them, they are ignorant, stupid, small minded and don’t deserve to exist on the same planet as you!”. 2012 has been designated “Alan Turing Year”, a member of the British parliament has called for Alan to be granted a posthumous pardon and OFFICIAL apology issued by the United Kingdom government, remember Alan died branded a sexual pervert and a criminal record with his name on it will exist in some form or other for eternity, can you really live with that knowledge as you enjoy your time in “cyber space”, thanks to Alan and his work before his death? Read about him, and if possible visit the statue erected to his memory in the small park in what is known as “Manchester’s Gay Village”, it already receives visitors from all around the world who know of Alan and his contribution to computing science, who knows you may have read this and we could meet at Alan’s Statue not knowing one of us is this articles author and the other a reader of it… If you love your computer then you should know and also love the name Alan Mathison Turing(1912-1954) for it was he that made what WE are doing now a possibility! (Alan died on June the 8th, 1954, a date that will soon be with us again, I will be thinking of Alan and thanking him on that day, I hope you will too.) (A photograph of Alan greets you on the home page of this blog)
At last after waiting for what seemed years a new album from one of my most favourite artists Solarstone(Richard Mowatt) has been released, and just like the Solarstone albums I already own this album “Pure” does not fail to please. Synthetic strings are my big thing when it comes to “trance” music, and this track “Falcons” provides them in abundance, so I am a very happy bunny when I listen to this great track through my cans… “Pure” was released May 21st, 2012, on the Dutch label “Black Hole Recordings” based in the town of Breda. What is it about the Netherlands that means they are home to some of the best dance music labels in the world? “Armada Music (part owned by Armin van Buuren)” and based in the Dutch capital Amsterdam has to be the world’s greatest dance music label, just look how many times it is listed in the info about some of the fantastic tracks I have posted here on my blog! I have treated your ears to this great track literally within days of “Pure” being released, I sometimes think I am way too kind to you proles for my own good…
The beautiful Ivi Adamou who I wanted to win for Cyprus with her entry “La La Love”, Ivi looked great and the song had me swishing my hips all over the place!
Putting to one side the fact that this year’s Eurovision Song Contest final was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, a country with one of the most oppressive governments to still exist in the 21st century. Words to describe the opening ceremony of this year’s final flow thick and fast, stunning, spectacular, gorgeous are but three of many I could use, to say that the ceremony made full use of the state-of-the-art facilities built into the stunning new “Crystal Hall” built on the sea front in Baku is a gross understatement, my jaw was in a constant state of drop watching the effects used during the show! Sadly my personal favourite which was the Cypriot entry “La La Love” sung by the gorgeous Ivi Adamou failed to win, that honour of course going to Loreen who sang the Swedish entry “Euphoria”(one of my least favourite entries!). Of the other entries with the exception of two, Moldova represented by gorgeous Pasha Parfeny singing a camp little song called “Lăutar” and Spain represented by lovely Pastora Soler singing “Quédate conmigo”, the entries from Albania(worst hairstyle ever on Eurovision), Israel(what a queen!), and last and definitely least “The Hump”(time to hang up the mike I think Gerry!) were at the best mediocre and at worst downright pathetic(Ireland take note). Sweden as the host of next year’s contest has definitely got her hands full in even trying to match the spectacle of this years contest, at least no poor residents will be shunted out of their homes(unsubstantiated rumour) to allow the construction of a multi-million pound/ Swedish krona venue for the 2013 event! One last comment, I hope France doesn’t play a trick again like the one they pulled last night, putting some gorge hunks from their Olympic squad on stage and them continually blocking my lust crazed view of them by sticking some warbling bint in the way so I ended up screaming “get the fxxx out of the way bitch!” at my screen, one moment I was whacking away like a demented chimpanzee and then she appeared and it was “hello mister droopy!”, my poor todger didn’t know if it was coming or going(it was definitely CUMMING, eventually), I nearly wore out the pause button on iPlayer freezing the action on stage when it showed the Olympic hotties at their finest. If France does use the same routine next year, keep last nights eye candy but have them nekkid next time, maximise the time the cameras are on them, minimise the time the cameras are on the artist singing and I will be one very happy and grateful queen with a very sore right hand ! Nude backing dancers should not pose a problem next year, the contest will be held in one of the most liberated countries in the world after all…
Gorgeous Pasha Parfeny(Pavel Parfeni) who camped it up for Moldova with his song “Lăutar”.
One scary bitch, Rona Nishliu who screamed for Albania.
Lovely Pastora Soler(Pilar Sánchez Luque) who sang “Quédate conmigo” for Spain, a really lovely song sung by a lovely singer.
Obviously on the night, the song that achieved the most votes won this year’s Eurovision Camp Contest, well done to Sweden and Loreen(Lorine Zineb Noka Talhaoui) the great singer who peformed their entry this year “Euphoria”. The only downer for me personally is that the song they sent to Baku with Loreen was one I have disliked ever since I first heard it, to me personally it sounds cheesy, outdated and does nothing to show off Loreen’s fantastic voice, but that is only MY opinion so pull your claws back in, everyone has THEIR own opinion, YOU may have been swishing your hips to it, I couldn’t wait for it to finish and didn’t watch the celebration performance of it. Now to the Loreen track I have posted here, to say I wish that it had been this year’s Swedish entry is a gross understatement, since I put it on my iPod touch it is on constant play, I use a set of fantastic mini-speakers to listen to my Pod music when I don’t want sweaty ears from wearing cans(and given the scorcheroo we here in the UK are currently experiencing, my cans are staying safely in my backpack!), when they here this track by Loreen playing people say how much they like it and ask who the singer is, when I tell them that the same person is representing Sweden in the ESC this year some but not all say they prefer it to the one they have already heard in the build up to the contest, good on them… The track by Loreen I am posting here is titled “My Heart is Refusing Me (Amarillo & Finer Remix Long Version)”.
Performing for kiddie-winkies and their parents at a theme park is all well and good but someone with a voice like this deserves an audience that lets her know how fxxxing much they love her and her music, cue a room full of gays and their friends & familys who don’t know the meaning of staying put in their seats and not dancing in the aisles! I wonder which Loreen prefers? Give me a fuxxxing break but the answer to that is as obvious as the fact that Graham Norton is a queen every time she opens her gob! (Cirkus is an arena in Stockholm that is used for concerts and shows, it was built as an actual circus(cirkus) in 1892. You could liken it to the “Melkweg or Milky Way” in Amsterdam that was built originally as a warehouse but today is used for club nights, concerts, art exhibitions &c.) Oops, I nearly forgot to say hei to a certain Svenska Drottning who lives in Oslo, there it’s done, so no more earache via Skype please Kjell! ;-)xx
I am posting this because I fxxing love this woman’s voice and this song soooooooo much!!!!! This performance was filmed for the programme “Sommarkrysset” which airs on Sweden’s TV4 television station at the Swedish amusement park “Gröna Lund or Green Grove” their version of our “Alton Towers” in July last year(2011). (Have you ever seen such a well behaved audience, I love the Scandinavians, they are so civilised!) (Apart from one notorious exception of course…)
